GNU's Not Unix

today i got a Linux machine at my lovely place of work. in case you are wondering, i am running Fedora on it-graphical version. the whole reason i asked for a linux box was to learn the cmd's....so you may be wondering why i opted for the graphical version (totally not cool to the old skoolerz but..). i was told it would be just as useful. i can always reinstall the non-graphical version of the OS later if need be.

i have don't anything of consequence on it yet, just played around with some of the open office software. so far, so good.

i may install eclipse on it and see how that works.... :-) anyway...i'm thrilled with the thought of abandoning M$ altogether. how liberating. yesterday there were some windoze problems...that reminded me to ask for a linux machine. lo and behold, got one, the next day.

i want to ditch windoze on one machine at home and use this....:-) one step closer to making that a reality.
